ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A capsule or over-closure of molded plastic material for use with a cork-stoppered bottle and which overlies the cork and bottle mouth and adjacent neck. The capsule has integrally molded skirt, guarantee strip, and upper circular disc with the guarantee strip being joined along its lower edge to the skirt by a circumferential line of weakening. The strip has an upper rad- ially inwardly extending surface meeting the central disc along a circular line of weakening, and the strip has two spaced-apart ends which diverge inwardly providing an inwardly widening open- ing in the radially inwardly extending surface to facilitate removal of the strip or disc.
