Abstract of the Disclosure Copolymers of acrylamides derivatives with maleic or fumaric acid ester derivatives, optionally containing a vinyl derivative are described. The ratio of acrylamide: ester: vinyl is in the range 1: 0.01 to 5: 0 to 10. Preferably the copolymers are prepared in an aqueous medium. These polymers find use as assistants in avoiding the grey base effect known as 'frosting' encountered when continuously dyeing polyester-cellulose mixed fabrics.
