ABSTRACT A pipe clamp apparatus for clamping around the circumference of a pipe includes a plurality of arc-shaped bands adapted circumferentially to surround a pipe. A first clamping projection is fixed at the adjacent ends of each of two of the arc-shaped bands. Each first clamping projection has a hole therethrough adapted to be aligned with a hole in the other first clamping projection. A pair of second clamping projections are fixed one at the opposite end of each of these two arc-shaped bands. The second clamp- ing projections are arranged in at least one confronting pair, a projection of each pair of second clamping projections comprising on its back a planar slanted surface running parallel with the axis of the pipe and extending at an acute angle outward from its associated band. The other projection of each pair of second clamping projections has an engaging portion. Fastener means fitted through the aligned holes in the first clamping projections clamp the first clamping projections to each other. A clip having a groove therein is fitted over the second clamping projections for holding the pair of second projections therein, one surface of the groove being complementary to and fitting over the planar slanted surface, an opposed surface of the groove fitting over said engaging portion.
