CATHETER ADAPTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An adapter for a syringe and a catheter comprising, a body member having first opening means to receive an end of the catheter, and means for sealingly engaging the catheter end. The body member has second opening means to receive a tip of the syr- inge, and means for sealingly engaging the syringe tip. Means is provided for establishing communication between the syringe tip and the one catheter end responsive to insertion of the tip into the second opening means and for closing the catheter end respon- sive to removal of the syringe tip from the second opening means.
