A B S T R A C T This invention consists of a swimming pool con- struction method, in which the walls of the cavity in the ground are lined with sheet metal, which is reinforced with Z-bar ribs on the outside surface of the sheet metal liner; the Z-bars are further reinforced with a C-frame fixed to the upper ends of the Z-bars and extending outwardly into the concrete and earth fill surrounding the swimming pool. A plastic coping is attached to the upper edge of the sheet metal liner. This coping serves as the inner edge of the sidewalk surrounding the pool, and is provided with a cavity for holding therein the upper edge of the plastic sheeting which serves as the interior wall liner. A simplified method for repeatedly attaching and removing the filtering unit of the swimming pool is also provided.
