ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A normally liquid suspension material for forming penetrating and lubricating adhesive coatings on coke oven doors and jambs contains submicron sized particles of graphite having a particle size less than about 4m,µ as determined by electron microscopy, said particles being small enough to penetrate into the grain struc- ture of coke oven doors and jambs in a solution of water, sodium silicate, concentrated hydrochloric acid and a water soluble resin.
