ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A textile cot and method of making same is provided. The cot has an elastomeric outer portion, and a rigid core bonded to and supporting the outer portion with the core being comprised of a continuous interlocking tube capable of being expanded radially a sufficient amount to provide a press fit against an associated cylindrical supporting roller. The tube is formed of elongated helically wound strips having mechanically interlocking projections. Such textile cot has a comparatively high hoop strength and a capacity for radial expansion.
