A B S T R A C T The invention relates to a multistep preparation process of new indolo(2,3-a)quinolizidines of the general formulae (I) and (II): Image Image (I) (II) wherein R stands for -COOC2H5, -COOH, -CN, a primary or secondary methylenamino group, a methylenamido group, or wherein R, together with the ring nitrogen of the indolo ring, represents one of the groupings N-CO-NH-CH2 or N-CO. These compounds of the invention are useful in the field of blood circulation in the brain.
