IMPROVED COATED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR COATING Abstract An article having an outer surface and an inner cavity, such as a hole or channel with a metallic inner surface, is provided with an inner metallic coating on the inner surface and, in one form, an outer metallic coating on the outer surface. The inner coating is provided as a result of decomposition and subsequent thermal homogenization of one or more organic compounds including Al, Cr or Ni or alloys including one or more of those elements. The outer coating can be the same as the inner coating or can be a metallic coating of one of a variety of known metallic coatings.
