: -32- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FLAT-COIL ACTUATOR ARRAY FOR MULTI-HEAD DISK DRIVE In combination with disk drive apparatus, an array of flat-coil actuators is disclosed, each actuator being arranged to reciprocate magnetic transducer means between a respective pair of stacked disk recording surfaces and being comprised of flat-coil turns on a planar substrate which is arranged to run between opposing magnet pole pieces along a pair of opposed runways and carry respective transducer means, whereby when the coil turns are selectively energized, the substrate may be caused to position the transducer means.
