ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for determining sugar tolerance in a subject comprising orally administering an aqueous solution containing maltose to the subject, sampling the blood of the subject before the administration of the maltose solution and to the subject at various time intervals after the administration of the maltose solution to the subject, and analyzing the samples of blood from the subject for glucose to produce the relationship between the level of glucose in the blood with respect to time thereby to determine the sugar tolerance of the subject.
