A B S T R A C T PROCESS FOR THE FRACTIONAL DISTILLATION OF CRUDE OIL A novel crude oil fractional distillation process, charac- terized by improved regulation of reflux in the de-entrainment section of a fractional distillation column, is disclosed. A first major part of the condensed liquid (line 5) with- drawn from the first tray 6 above the flash zone 3 of the column 1 is returned to the column 1 at a zone higher than said tray 6 but below the lowest sidedraw tray 4. A second part of the con- densed liquid is returned to the flash zone 3. Figure 1.
