27177 DIGITAL COMPUTER TO TAPE RECORDING UNIT INTERFACE Abstract of the Disclosure In a digital computer system wherein a tape recording unit is utilized for program storage, an interface between the digital computer and the tape re- cording unit is provided which utilizes digital logic to decode the data from the tape recording unit and to generate a clock or timing signal from the data provided from the tape recording unit to insure the accurate transfer of data from the tape recording unit to the digital computer. The use of digital logic to decode the data from the tape recording unit and to generate the timing signal from the data output from the tape recording unit alleviates the need for circuit adjustments which are required in interfaces which utilize analog circuitry to decode the data from the tape recording unit or to generate the timing signal from the data output from the tape recording unit.
