Abstract of the Disclosure A cup comprises a sidewall portion of generally circular cross-sectional configuration extending from a closed end portion to an open end portion. The cup is of molded expanded polystyrene having a density of from about 1.0 to about 2.5 lbs./ft3, and a thickness of from about 70 to about 100 mils. A reinforcing band encircling the sidewall portion and firmly adherent thereto comprises translucent paper of from about 1 to about 2 mils thick, and having a basis weight of from about 10 to about 20 lbs./ream. The band is adhered to the sidewall portion by an adhesive that contains a dye visible through the reinforcing band and serving as decoration for the cup.
