ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: This invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds having the formula: Image in which R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, a C1-4 alkyl group, a C2-4 aliphatic acyl group or a benzenoid aromatic acyl group, provided R1 and R2 are not simultaneously hydrogen, or, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, R1 and R2 form a 5- or 6- membered ring which may carry an oxygen atom R3 is a C1-4 alkyl group; and R4 and R5 represent independently a hydrogen or halogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group or a C1-4 alkoxy groups and the acid addition salts of the above compounds. These new compounds have an anxiolytic and diuretic action, together with a spasmolytic action of non-.alpha.-adrenalytic nature on the unstriated muscle fibers.
