ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertical synchronizing signal detecting method is disclosed which comprises the steps of detecting a unit signal from a complex synchronizing signal including a ver- tical synchronizing signal formed of a predetermined number of continuous unit signals each having a predetermined waveform, counting a number of the unit signals, and pro- ducing a detecting signal having a predetermined timing relation to the vertical synchronizing signal when it is detected that the unit signals continuously arrive with the above predetermined number.
