6567 ABSTRACT The specification describes an ingot grab (10) having a pair of legs (14) that can be held in position astride an ingot (I). Each leg (14) carries a grip point (20) opposite that carried by the other leg and the grip points are formed on wedge blocks (21) that will be urged downwardly and towards each other by the weight of the ingot, Co-acting means (26) is provided to hold the wedge blocks in the positions to which they are drawn unless they are positively released.
