ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an apparatus for manufactur- ing pipe from an elongated sheet metal strip. The apparatus in- cludes a supply reel for the strip, an elongated horizontally mounted carrier, and means for rotatably mounting the supply reel at an end of the carrier. Profiling means are provided for forming an edge of the strip, and rabbeting means are pro- vided for joining adjacent edges of the strip. Further means are provided for mounting the profiling means and the rabbeting means at an end of the carrier for substantially concentric motion with respect to the carrier, and guide means guide the strip withdrawn from the supply reel to the profiling and rabbeting means in a generally circular path. Thus, the strip is joined to itself in a helical path to form an elongated pipe.
