ABSTRACT Prostenoic acid derivatives of formula Image (I) wherein: A represents an ethylene group or a cis-vinylene group; R1 and R2 may be the same of different and each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R3 and R4 may be the same of different and each represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and R5 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, useful medically as anti-ulcerogenic and bronchodilating agents, are prepared by oxidizing the corresponding 9? -hydroxy-15?-(protected hydroxy)- 20-alkylideneprost-13(trans)-enoic acid derivatives.
