ABSTRACT The hitherto unknown 1,2,4-oxadiazin-5-one derivatives of the formula: Image wherein R represents hydrogen or an alkyl or phenyl radical, and Ar represents a phenyl radical substituted by 1, 2 or 3 substituents selected from halogen, hydroxy, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphonyl, trifluoromethylthio, nitro, dialkylamino, sulphamoyl and dialkylsulphamoyl, or Ar represents a thienyl, pyrrolyl or furyl radical unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or alkyl, have been found to possess phytohormonal and herbicidal properties.
