Compounds of formula (I) wherein R1 is H or SO3M, R2 is (i), (ii), (iii), (iv), M is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric ration and X+ is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation, are useful as dyes for oxidized aluminium substrates.
