Abstract of the Disclosure Novel 1,2-dihydro-2-oxopyridines of the formula I Image I wherein R is Image , and R1, R2, R3 and R4 are as defined in Patent Claim 1, and their salts, exhibit antagonistic properties towards angiotensin II and can be used for the treatment of hypertension, aldosteronism, cardiac insufficiency and increased intraocular pressure, and of disorders of the central nervous system.
