ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel 1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-ones exhibit an outstand- ing anti-allergic action which can be demonstrated in the pharma- cological test of passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA test) in vivo in rats, the derivatives have the formula (I):- Image (I) wherein R1, R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl radicals, R4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy radical, n is 2, 3, 4 or 5 and A is a valency bond, a methylene radical, or a phenyl-substituted methylene radical, the pharmaceutically acceptable, pharmacologically compatible acid addition salts thereof with non-toxic inorganic and organic acids are similarly useful.
