ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to novel 1-carbamoyl and 1-thio- carbamoyl-.DELTA.2-pyrazolines of the formula: Image wherein X represents oxygen or sulfur and R1 to R4 represent various substituents. The compounds possess insecticidal activity and are particularly active against larvae of insects for example larvae of colorado beetle, cabbage white butterfly and yellow-fever mosquito. On the basis of their activity, the compounds, after having been processed to the usual composition, may be used in controlling insects, particularly in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The dosage is 0.05 - 1 kg of the active substance per hectare.
