ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel piperazine derivatives are disclosed which are useful as anaesthetics and have the general formula [I] Image [I] wherein R represents a lower alkyl group, R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group but both R1 and R2 are not hydrogen, and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. The preparation of these compounds is also disclosed.
