The present invention relates to a biopolymer-containing thermoplastic mixture which is obtained by preparing and mixing: (A) 100 parts by weight of a 1,4-.alpha.-D-polyglucane produced by a bio-catalytic method; (B) up to 400 parts by weight of a polymeric material other than (A) and capable of undergoing a thermoplastic process; (C) an amount of water sufficient for plastifying the mixture; (D) at least one plasticizer in amount ranging from 10 parts by weight to the half the summed parts by weight of (A) and (B); and (E) optional other common additives in an amount not exceeding ((A) + (B)) parts by weight. The water content of constituents (A) and (B) is reduced to 0 using computer techniques and plastification is carried out by using both thermal and mechanical energy. This invention also relates to the use of this mixture in the production of moulded articles and substantially bio-degrading films as well as to a method for preparing said mixture.

L'invention concerne un mélange thermoplastique à base de biopolymères s'obtenant par préparation et mélange de (A) 100 parties en poids d'1,4- alpha -D-polyglucane produit par voie biocatalytique, (B) jusqu'à 400 parties en poids d'un matériau polymère différent de (A) et apte à la mise en oeuvre thermoplastique, (C) de l'eau en une quantité suffisante à la plastification du mélange, (D) au moins un plastifiant en une quantité comprise entre 10 parties en poids et la moitié des sommes des parties en poids (A) et (B), et (E) éventuellement jusqu'à ((A) + (B)) parties en poids d'autres additifs usuels, la teneur en eau des constituants (A) et (B) ayant été ramenée à zéro par ordinateur, la plastification s'effectuant par apport d'énergie thermique et mécanique. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de ce mélange pour fabriquer des corps moulés et des films sensiblement biodégradables, ainsi qu'un procédé pour la fabrication de ce mélange.
