A 1,4-benzodioxin derivative represented by formula (I) Image wherein A is a phenyl group, R1 and R2 may be the same or different, and each is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a (C1-C6)alkyl group, a trifluoromethyl group, a (C1-C6)alkoxy group, an aryl group selected from phenyl or naphthyl, an aryloxy group selected from phenoxy or naphthoxy or an aryl(C1-C6) alkyloxy group selected from benzyloxy, phenethyloxy, phenylpropyloxy or naphthylmethoxy, the aryl, aryloxy or aryl(C1-C6) alkyloxy group being optionally substituted by one or two halogen atoms, or R1 and R2 together form -OCH20-, R3 is a hydrogen atom or a(C1-C6)alkyl group, R4 is a hydrogen atom, R5 is a hydrogen atom or a(C1-C6) alkyl group, X is a divalent radical of formula ( II ) Image wherein n is 1 or 2, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compounds are useful for a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diabetes, hyperglycemia and obesity.

Cette invention concerne des dérivés de 1,4-benzodioxine correspondant à la formule générale (I) où A représente un groupe aryle ou cycloalkyle; R1 et R2 représentent chacun un atome hydrogène ou halogène ou un groupe alkyle, trifluorométhyle, alcoxy, aryle ou aryloxy, ou encore R1 et R2 sont combinés de manière à représenter un groupe méthylènedioxy; R3 représente un atome hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle; R4 représente un atome hydrogène ou CO2R5; R5 représente un atome hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle; et x est un groupe représenté par l'une des formules générales (II) ou (III) où n est égal à 1 ou 2. Ces composés sont utiles dans la composition d'un agent thérapeutique ou prophylactique contre le diabète, l'hyperglycémie et l'obésité.
