1,4-Dihydropyridine derivatives of the formula (I): Image (I) wherein R1 represents furyl, thienyl, pyridyl, pyrazinyl, quinolyl or benzoquinolyl, optionally substituted by halogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy, trichloromethyl, trifluoromethyl, amino, acetylamino, benzoylamino,(C1-C4)alkoxy carbonyl or phenyloxy, R2 and R3 are the same or different and each represent hydrogen, halogen, nitro or trifluoromethyl, R4 represents a straight- or branched-(C1-C8)alkyl, (C1- C6)alkoxy(C1-C6)alkyl or ethoxyethoxymethyl, n represents 2 or 3, have vasodilating and blood pressure lowering effects. The compounds of the invention are used for treatment of cardiac diseases, cerebrovascular diseases and hypertension.
