ABSTRACT The present invention is novel 1,4-dihydro- pyridine derivatives having activity as calcium antagonists useful for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. More particularly, the invention includes preferred compounds which in addition to the useful- ness associated with calcium antagonism also exhibit positive inotropic effect without the usual accom- panying negative inotropic effect. Thus, the pre- ferred compounds additionally provide beneficial increased myocardial activity.
