Compounds of formula a) wherein R1 represents a phenyl, C3-7cycloalkyl, C7-11 bridgedcycloalkyl or C1-6 alkyl group which alkyl group may be substituted by a hydroxy, phenyl, C1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C3-7cycloalkyl, or C7-11 bridgedcycloalkyl group; R2 represents a phenyl group optionally substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halogen, C1-4 alkyl, C1-4 alkylthio, cyano, nitro, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy (CH2)nR4 or O(CH2)pR4 wherein R4 represents hydroxy, C1-4 alkoxy, CO2R5 or NR6R7; n is zero or 1; p is an integer from 1 to 4; R3 represents the group AlkNR8R9; R5 represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; R6 represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; R7 represents hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, acyl, or C2-6alkyl substituted by one or more hydroxy, carboxyl and/or amino groups or R6 and R7 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-7 saturated heterocyclic ring which contain an additional heteroatom selected from oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen and/or may be substituted by 1 or 2 C1-4alkyl or hydroxy groups. R8 and R9 independently represent hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl or C2-6 alkyl substituted by one or more hydroxy, carboxyl and/or amino groups or R8 or R9 together with the nitrogen atom which they are attached represent a 5-7 saturated heterocyclic ring which may contain an additional heteroatom selected from oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen and/or may be substituted by 1 or 2 C1-4 alkyl or hydroxy groups; Alk represents a straight or branched C2-6 alkylene chain optionally substituted by a hydroxyl group; R10 represents hydrogen or a halogen atom; m is zero, 1 or 2; X is oxygen or NH; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and or metabolically labile esters thereof are antagonists of gastrin and CCK.

R<8> et R<9> représentent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, hydrogène, C1-4alkyle ou C2-6alkyle substitué par un ou plusieurs groupes hydroxy, carboxyle et/ou amino ou R<8> et R<9> représentent avec l'atome d'azote auquel ils sont fixés un anneau hétérocyclique saturé à 5-7 éléments, qui peut contenir un hétéroatome supplémentaire choisi entre oxygène, soufre ou azote et/ou peut être substitué par 1 ou 2 groupe(s) C1-4alkyle ou hydroxy; Alk représente une chaîne C2-6alkylène droite ou ramifiée, éventuellement substituée par un groupe hydroxyle; R<10> représente hydrogène ou un atome d'halogène; m est zéro, 1 ou 2; X est oxygène ou NH; et les sels acceptables du point de vue pharmaceutique et/ou les esters métaboliquement labiles dérivés de ces produits sont des antagonistes de la gastrine et de CKK.
