-1- Abstract: The invention provides 1,5-benzothiazepine derivatives of the formula: Image wherein R1 is hydrogen or lower alkanoyl and each of R2 and R3 is lower alkyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. These derivatives and salts thereof are useful as hypotensive agents and/or cerebral or coronary vasodilators.
