Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is novel [1-alkylpyrrolyl-2)thioacetamides of formula (I) Image (I) wherein R represents a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R1 ant R2, independently from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or R1 and R2 together represent an alkylene group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms which may be interrupted by O, S or an amino group; and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a p-toluoyl group. The compounds are useful as intermediates for the preparation of various organic compounds, especially physiologically active compounds such as medicines and agricultural chemicals.
