Abstract of the Disclosure Analgesics, local anesthetics, and antiarrhythmics which are 1- (amino-alkyl)-2-aryl-cyclohexane alcohols and esters having the structure Image wherein R1 is hydrogen or alkanoyl; R2 and R3 individually are hydrogen, lower alkyl, or lower alkenyl, or R2 and R3 together with the nitrogen to which they are attached form a morpholine radical, a piperazine radical or a carbocyclic ring; R4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R5 and R6 individually are hydrogen, lower alkyl, hydroxyl or lower alkoxy; and the pharmaceut- ically acceptable acid addition and quaternary salts thereof, as well as stereoisomers and optical isomers thereof. This invention relates also to processes for making and using the foregoing compounds.
