ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to novel derivatives of 1-aryloxy- 2-hydroxy-3-alkyleneamino-propane having interesting pharma- cologica1 properties. In particular, the novel compounds exhibit a combination of .alpha.- and .beta.- adrenolytic properties and may be useful in the treatment and/or prophylaxis of coronary disease and for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia particularly t??hycardia. The novel compounds may also be useful in the treatment of hypertonic disease and also exhibit antidepressant properties. Processes for the preparation of the novel compounds are described and exemplified and examples of pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compounds are given.
