Abstract of the disclosure The invention concerns hypotensive, antihypertensive and bradycardic compounds of the formula I (I) Image wherein Ph is unsubstituted 1,2-phenylene, or 1,2-phenylene substituted by one to three identical or different members selected from lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylenedioxy, hydroxy, halogeno and tri- fluoromethyl; R0 is hydrogen or HPh; each of R1, R2 and R3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; and n is an integer from 1 to 10; the amides, mono- or di-lower alkylamides, lower alkyl esters, (amino, mono- or di-lower alkylamino, carboxy or carbo lower alkoxy)-lower alkyl esters, or salts thereof. They can be prepared, for example, by hydrolysing a compound of the general formula Image wherein at least one of X and Y is cyano, and the other is said free, amidized or esterified carboxy group.
