(1) COOLING OF HYGROSCOPIC PLASTIC COMPOUND STRANDS AFTER EXTRUSION : ABSTRACT: This system is ideal for hygroscopic brittle materials when extruded in combination of additives with variable moisture content. It has been found that sudden cooling of the strands made the extruded material brittle and thus it becomes impossible to bring them to the puller of the pelletizer to be further processed. Therefore, steady cooling is three steps made the process work for polystyrene crystal. in combination of medium or high impact styrene along with additives.
