ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE New compounds of the general formula (I) Image (I) wherein R1 stands for hydrogen or an acyl group and R2 stands for an alkyl group, have been prepared by reacting a compound of the general formula (II) Image (II) wherein R2 stands for an alkyl group, with formaldehyde, and optionally acylating the obtained compound, or optionally hydrolyzing an acyl derivative. If desired, the racemic compounds of the general formula (I) can be resolved to yield the corresponding optically active isomers. The free bases of the general formula (I) can be converted into their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or the salts can be treated with an alkaline agent to yield the free bases. The compounds of the general formula (I) can be used in the therapy primarily as vasodilatating agents.
