This invention relates to 1-phenyl-3-phenyl-2-propyne- 1-ones of the formula: Image wherein: R1, R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen; C1-C6 alkyl; C1-C6 alkoxy; halogen; -N(Y1)(Y2), wherein Y1 and Y2 are each independently hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; or X2-(Ar)-(CH2)n-O-, wherein Ar is phenyl or naphthyl, n=0 or 1, X=C1-C6 alkoxy or -N(Y1)(Y2), wherein Y1 and Y2 are as previously defined and Z=0, 1, 2; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and the use of these compounds as calcium uptake inhibitors in leuko- cytes and thrombocytes, and pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds as active ingredients, and the process of their preparation.
