A novel class of compounds of the general formula (I), their use in therapy, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds, as well as their use in the manufacture of medicaments are described. The present compounds modulate the activity of 11.beta.-hydroxy-steroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11.beta.HSD1) and are accordingly useful in the treatment of diseases in which such a modulation is beneficial, e.g. the metabolic syndrome.
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle classe de composés répondant à la formule générale (I) et leur utilisation en thérapie, de même que des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant les composés et leur utilisation dans la fabrication de médicaments. Les présents composés modulent l'activité de la 11.beta.-hydroxy-stéroïde déshydrogénase de type 1 (11.beta.HSD1) et ils sont par conséquent utiles pour le traitement de maladies dans lesquelles une telle modulation est bénéfique, comme par exemple le syndrome métabolique.
