Abstract There are described new 14a1pha,17alpha-ethanoestratrienes general formula I Image (I), in which R1 means a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or acyl group with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R2 means a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R3 a hydrogen atom or an acyl group with 1 to 12 carbon atoms and either Image or Image in which R4 is an alpha-position or beta-position alkyl radical with 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an alpha,beta-alkenyl radical optionally exhibiting several double bonds or an alpha,beta alkinyl radical, both with 2 to 8 carbon atoms, as well as a process for their production. The new compounds have strong estrogenic effectiveness.
