ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 14.alpha., 17.alpha.- (propano and 172-propeno) estratrienes of the general formula (I), in which R1 is a hydrogen atom, a methyl or acyl group with 1-12 carbon atoms, R2 is a hydrogen atom or an acyl group with 1-12 carbon atoms and (a) is a C-C single or double bond. The novel compounds of the general formula (I) are oestrogenically active like ethinyl estradiol.
