ABSTRACT 16 KETOANDROSTENE-17-DITHIOKETALS Steroids having the formula Image and the 1,2-dehydro and 6,7-dehydro derivatives thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and each is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; R3 is carbonyl, .beta.-hydroxymethylene or .beta.-acetyloxymethylene; R4 is hydrogen or halogen; and R5 is hydrogen, methyl, hydroxy, alkanoyl, alkanoyloxy, or halogen; have topical anti- inflammatory activity.
