The new 17.alpha.-cyanomethylestra-4,9-diene derivative compounds are of formula I: Image I, wherein R1 is an alkyl group having from 1 to 2 carbon atoms; R2 is an alkyl group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an acyl group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a trialkylsilyl group; and R3 is an oxygen atom or a R-O-N group, wherein R is a hydrogen atom, an acyl group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkyl group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a sulfamoyl group, an alkylsilyl group or a trialkylsilyl group. These compounds, particularly in combination with at least one suitable estrogen, are suitable for treatment of endometrioses or gestagen-dependent tumors and for hormonal contraception and climacteric hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Processes for making the new steroids are described as well as methods of making the pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
Les nouveaux dérivés du 17 -cyanométhyloestra-4,9-diène sont de la formule I: IMG I, où R1 est un groupement alkyle ayant 1 ou 2 atomes de carbone, où R2 est un groupement alkyle ayant de 1 à 10 atomes de carbone, un groupement acyle de 1 à 10 atomes de carbone ou est un groupement trialkylsilyle, où R3 est un atome d'oxygène ou un groupement R-O-N dont le R est un atome d'hydrogène, un groupement acyle ayant de 1 à 10 atomes de carbone, un groupement alkyle ayant de 1 à 10 atomes de carbone, un groupement sulfamoyle, un groupement alkylsilyle ou un groupement trialkylsilyle. Ces composés, particulièrement en combinaison avec au moins un oestrogène approprié, contribuent au traitement de l'endométriose ou de tumeurs dépendantes des gestagènes, ainsi qu'à la contraception hormonale et à l'hormonothérapie substitutive climatérique. Les procédés d'obtention les nouveaux stéroïdes sont décrits, ainsi que des méthodes de synthèse des compositions pharmaceutiques qui en contiennent.
