The present invention provides an improved method of chromatographically separating the isomers of (lR,rR)-atracurium salts by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), in the absence of a strong acid. The separation is preferably performed on a silica gel HPLC column using an eluent containing an organic solvent, a polar aprotic co-solvent and a weak organic acid.

Cette invention concerne un procédé amélioré qui consiste à séparer par chromatographie les isomères des sels (1R,1'R)-atracurium par chromatographie liquide à haute performance (CLHP), en l'absence d'un acide fort. La séparation est, de préférence, réalisée sur une colonne CLHP de gel de silice au moyen d'un éluant contenant un solvant organique, un co-solvant aprotique polaire et un acide organique faible.
