Abstract of the Disclosure This invention encompasses novel 2,2-diaryl-3- (1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-yl)propionamides. These compounds are prepared by reacting a methyl 2,2-diaryl-3-(1-azabicyclo [2.2.2]oct-2-yl)propionate with ammonia in the presence of a base. These compounds are useful anti-diarrheal agents which possess little or no analgesic activity.
