Abstract of the disclosure: Substituted thienoimidazole derivatives, processes for their preparation,pharmaceutical formulations containing them and their use as gastric acid secretion inhibitors. The invention relates to compounds of the formula I Image (I) in which A stands for (a) Image , (b) Image or (c) Image T denotes -S-, -SO- or -SO2-, R3 denotes hydrogen, alka- noyl, alkylcarbamoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, benzyloxycarbonyl or another physiologically tolerated protective group, R4 and R5 stand for hydrogen or alkyl, R6 and R8 denote hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or a substituent of the formula -O-[CH2]o-CpH(2p+1-q)Halq and R7 is hydrogen, (subst.)alkyl (subst.)alkoxy, -O-[CH2]o-CpH(2p+1-q)Halq, NR'R", alkyl- mercapto, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl, a process for their preparation, pharmaceutical preparations containing these compounds and their use as medicaments.
