Abstract Compounds which are useful as anti-inflammatory agents have the formula Image wherein X is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, amino, tri- fluoromethyl and nitro; Y and Y' are the same and are members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, tri- fluoromethyl, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, nitro, amino and cyano, and Y is at the 4- or 5-position and Y' is at the 4'- or 3'-position, provided when Y is at the 4-position, Y' is at the 4'-position and when Y is at the 5-position, Y' is the 5'-position; Z is a straight or branched chain alkylene group containing from 2 to about 6 carbons; and pharmaceuti- cally acceptable acid- or base-addition salts thereof.
