ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel 2,7-bis-basic derivatives of 9-(substituted) benzylidenefluorene having the formula Image wherein n is an integer of from 2 to 6, Y is selected from the group consisting of oxygen and the radical ?-O, R and R1 are lower alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen or cyano, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, their preparation and use for the prevention and inhibition of viral infections are dis- closed.
