This invention relates to a 2-acylaminopropanol compound represented by the formula (I): Image wherein R1 represents a phenyl group which may be substituted by 1 to 3 same or different substituents selected from alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, hydroxyalkyl and nitro, R2 represents the following formula (II), (III), (IV), (V) or (VI), Image wherein R3, R4, R5, R6,1 R7, R8,1 R9, m and p are those defined in the specification R11 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, and n represents an integer of 3 to 15 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a medical composition which contains the same as an archive ingredient and exhibits effects as an antiviral agent or an agent for treating neuronal diseases.

Composé de 2-acylaminopropanol répondant à la formule générale (I), ou son sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable, et composition médicinale renfermant ce composé à titre de principe actif et utilisable comme agent antiviral et comme médicament pour les maladies du système nerveux. Dans ladite formule (I), R<1> représente phényle éventuellement substitué par un à trois substituants identiques ou différents choisis parmi alkyle, alcoxy, hydroxy, hydroxyalkyle et nitro; R<2> représente un groupe répondant à l'une quelconque des formules générales (II) à (VI), dans lesquelles R<3>, R<4>, R<5>, R<6>, R<7>, R<8>, R<9>, m et p ont chacun la notation définie dans la description; R<11> représente hydrogène ou hydroxy; et n est un nombre entier compris entre 3 et 15.
