2-Alkylmercapto4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic esters and a process for their preparation The invention relates to 2-alkylmercapto4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic esters of theformula (II), in which R1 and R2 are, independently of each other, (C1-C6) alkyl, and a process for their preparation, which comprises reacting 3,4- dichlorobenzotrifluoride electrochemically at an anode with CO2 to give 2-chloro-4- (trifluoromethyl)-benzoate, converting it into the corresponding benzoic ester of the formula (1), and then reacting it with an alkylmercaptide R2Se. Esters 2-alkylmercapto-4-(trifluorométhyl)benzoïques et procédé d'obtention. Cette invention a trait à des esters 2-alkylmercapto-4-(trifluorométhyl)benzoïques de la formule (II) où R1 et R2 sont, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, un alkyle en C1-C6, et à un procédé pour leur obtention comprenant la réaction électrochimique du 3,4-dichlorobenzotrifluorure avec le CO2 à une anode pour donner le benzoate de 2-chloro-4-trifluorométhyle, sa conversion en un ester benzoïque correspondant de la formule (I) et à sa réaction avec un alkylmercaptide R2Se.
